In order to honor its legislative spirit and implement the spirit of the Archives Act, promote public access to the archives, and optimize develop the evidential functions of archives in administrative on and historically aspects of archives, according to the regulations of Archives Act, we collect and transfer the government agency archives which have to be permanently preserved. We also accept donations, trusteeship and acquisition of valuable documents from private sectors to ensure the archives worthy of with long term preservation value to be properly stored preserved and to be utilized after charting description, arrangement and conservation. Up to now, 25 categories of approximately 29.3 kilometers of archives are collected by National Archives Administration, including those related with government policies, interior affairs, judicial and legal affairs, legislative and control affairs.
To facilitate public access to the archives, the latest information about the archives has been provided since 2010 quarterly. There were 332.225 meters of archives in total (15 major categories) preserved between Jan. and Mar. 2024. The source authorities, content summaries, information period and lengths of these acquisitions are listed in tables below: |

As of Mar. 31th, 2024, the National Archives collection totaled 29,298.64 meters in length (paper materials accounted for 28,356.32 meters; non-paper materials for 942.32 meters, including 249.76 meters of photographic materials, 663.945 meters of video and audio tape materials, 13.175 meters of electronic media, 15.44 meters of abolished seals restructured agencies). The numbers and proportions of the various categories of archives are shown in the table on the left and the pie chart below:

Introduction to“Birthday Celebration of Taipei Xia-Hai City God”on May 13th of the Lunar Calendar
Built in 1856, the Xia-Hai City God temple was located in Dadaocheng, one of the most developed areas in Taiwan at the time. Over the years, it has ensured prosperity and peace through the God’s blessings. Every year the temple holds the annual “City God Birthday Parade”on May 13th of the lunar calendar, a celebration classified as an intangible asset by Taipei City government.
The day time inspection tour is an important activity of the festival. Its scope covers mainly the south of Minzu West Road, the east of Dihua Street, the north of Chang'an West Road, and the west of Chengde Road, The main sacrificial region is the traditional core area of Datong District in Taipei (Figure 1). Every year during this period, believers and store owners along the street set up tables to worship through burning incense sticks and joss paper money to pray for the gods' protection and safety. Various performing art groups also accept the invitation to participate in the parade for entertaining the audience, and competing with each other. On the day of the festival, people from various places in Taiwan come to watch it. The crowded believers and tourists create the exciting atmosphere together with performers and leave unforgettable memories (Figure 2).
